Known as the heart of the Olympic Peninsula, Forks is a haven for nature lovers. The city is an ideal base camp for those wanting to visit nearby attractions like the Hoh Rainforest and Olympic National Park. The Forks Timber Museum offers a fascinating look into the past of area loggers and their tools of the trade, while the annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July festivities puts the city in a celebratory mood. Forks and nearby La Push have become well known, due to the popular teen book series, Twilight by author Stephanie Meyers. Both are featured prominently throughout the books.
